A Name You Should Know: Adam Hood
If you’re a fan of music local to Alabama and you haven’t heard of Adam Hood, it’s time you were introduced!
Adam Hood is someone you don’t hear a lot of marketing group hype about, but if you’ve spent time around local musicians you’ve probably heard his name mentioned more than once. An Opelika native, Adam has been playing the Opelika / Montgomery / Auburn scenes since he was 14 or so. His raw, down-home approach to both writing and performing is a refreshing, unfiltered approach to country music that many appreciate as “the way country music oughtta be.”
Adam can be caught all over the southeast (as evidenced on his dates page), and on a national tour with Willie Nelson this summer. If you want to catch him in Birmingham, your best bet is going to be at Pale Eddie’s. His shows there aren’t usually announced early (if at all, it’s usually via Twitter just a few hours before the show) but if he’s playing you can follow your ears all the way up 2nd Avenue North and find some of the best talent Alabama has to offer.
